Bernd Hellingrath and Adam Widera from the C³M are chairing a mini-session within the "Humanitarian Operations and Crisis Management" track. The session covers the topic of simulation-related research in the context of humanitarian logistics. Since the rise of research activities in the context of humanitarian logistics in the past two decades, a special emphasis has been placed on the design and application of simulation-based approaches. Those research activities cover a wide range of different simulation paradigms as well as a very diverse range of application cases. This session aims at providing a structured overview of the different approaches and to present and discuss selected simulation-based concepts to better understand and improve humanitarian logistics practices.
